Preah Vihear territory, which outskirts Thailand and Laos toward the north, is home to three of the most dazzling sanctuaries of the Angkorian period: the Preah Vihear sanctuary, the Koh Ker sanctuary, and the Preah Khan Kampong Svay sanctuary. Through the vigorous endeavors of the Royal Government of Cambodia under the astute, splendid administration of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Preah Vihear Temple was recorded and proclaimed a World Heritage site by UNESCO on July 8, 2008.
