Oddar Meanchey, which lies in northwestern Cambodia, is the area where the previous Khmer Rouge armed force kept up their last fortification. The town of Anlong Veng, which housed the last home for Pol Pot- - the famous Khmer Rouge pioneer - has been reserved by the Royal Cambodian Government as one of the nation's chronicled sights. The commonplace capital is Samraong.

In spite of the fact that remote, Oddar Meanchey has a few chronicled destinations worth going by. In Anlong Veng locale, along Road 68, around 100 kilometers east of Oddar Meanchey commonplace town, is a house once claimed by previous Khmer Rouge Commander Ta Mok. From 1979 until late1997, this territory was sorted out and controlled by the Khmer Rouge armed forces. Some residual statues depict the way the dissidents lived and how they masterminded their troops amid their grisly battle against the legislature.

Also, there is a heap of tires in the woods that is thought to be the memorial service fire and internment site of Pol Pot, the pioneer of Khmer Rouge. Guests who stop in Oddar Meanchey regularly make the visit to Anlong Veng to see and photo the locales connected with the previous administration.

The Cambodian-Thai outskirt check purpose of Ou Smach is around 41km from the common town. At the fringe, there are eateries, clubhouse and inns.
